Biqmind together with our partner Alibaba Cloud organized a live webinar on 4 Jun 2020 that discussed the challenges that arise in the application and data migration for Kubernetes in Alibaba Cloud’s Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK), as well as showcase CAPE, Biqmind’s cloud-native tool to help ease operational overheads across multiple ACK clusters.
Our Enablement Director Vinod Narayanankutty, and Head Software Architect and CNCF Ambassador Chakradhar “Chak” Jonagam were the presenters on this Zoom Webinar. In case you missed it, you can rewatch the presentation on YouTube, or read on for some of the highlights.
Simplifying Application & Data Migration to Container Engine for Kubernetes in Alibaba Cloud (ACK)
Chakradhar “Chak” Jonagam
Head Software Architect and CNCF Ambassador
Vinod kicked off the presentation with an overview of migration scenarios and the important considerations that need to be made from cluster compatibility to having a rollback strategy. He followed with a practical use case about migrating applications from on-prem to cloud in a retail environment and the steps needed for this process.
Chak delved deeper with an in-depth hands-on look at Biqmind’s cloud-native tool CAPE and how it simplifies the cloud migration process. He showed how to use CAPE for multi-cluster application deployment and how it can be used to deploy kubernetes in Alibaba Cloud.
Attendees of the webinar were also given a free course using Kubernetes to manage containers and cluster resources on Alibaba Cloud Academy while Biqmind offered a free half-day consulting session with regards to app modernization.
Thanks again to all who attended the webinar – look out for more such webinars on the Biqmind calendar in future.
