Biqmind was invited to be a part of a distinguished panel of guest speakers sharing their thoughts on transforming the manufacturing industry and digital transformation particularly in harsh manufacturing environments. COO Mark Mooney joined representatives from Thailand companies Festo Didactic and Wabag in a discussion moderated by CK Vishwakarma, founder and CEO of AllThingsConnected in their Virtual Thought Leadership webinar series.
Biqmind kicked off the discussion with a closer look at what needs to be done to deliver Industry 4.0 capabilities in harsh and hazardous environments, an area sometimes overlooked by companies who may not realise the additional challenges that physically difficult conditions can pose to implementing digital transformation. These can include specialized equipment designed for potentially explosive areas, or low connectivity in remote areas for example.
Mark also went on to detail a practical explanation, outlining the challenges and solutions that Biqmind developed for Lantern Positioning, a positioning solution by group company LanternEdge that is being developed for enterprises in harsh and hazardous environments like Oil and Gas.
Next, Volker Schmid, the Asia Pacific Head of Festo Didactic which provides equipment and solutions for technical education talked about their company’s experience designing smart factories and integrating and implementing Industry 4.0 in their own facilities. Finally, Anil Sravat, CEO of Wabag that specializes in water solutions shared the applications and challenges of Industry 4.0 in the energy sector. The session closed out with all panelists participating in a dynamic round of Q&A answering questions submitted by the audience.
Thanks again to AllThingsConnected for inviting Biqmind to be a part of the panel, stay tuned to more Biqmind webinars and events coming soon.
