Biqmind together with Cloud Native Singapore meetup group organized a live webinar on 9 July 2020 that discussed using Velero for data migration and disaster recovery, as well as showcased CAPE, Biqmind’s cloud-native tool that extends the capabilities of Velero for Kubernetes multi-cluster application and data management.
Cloud Native Singapore organiser David Loke welcomed our viewers, while Head Software Architect and CNCF Ambassador Chakradhar “Chak” Jonagam presented on this webinar. In case you missed it, you can rewatch the presentation on YouTube, or read on for some of the highlights.
Chak gave an overview of current options available for Kubernetes backup and the challenges faced today. He then delved into how Velero is used to backup and restore Kubernetes applications, possible use cases and a Velero 101 for new users.
Velero is a great solution but not without its challenges which Chak proceeded to layout. Following that he did a demo of CAPE, a new software developed by Biqmind that builds on and extends the capabilities of Velero into an intuitive UI-based experience.
Thanks again to all who attended the webinar – look out for more such webinars on the Biqmind calendar in future.
